Thousands of newcomers have come to Edmonton from the Middle East as refugees. These incredible people have experienced the challenges of war and displacement from their homes. As a result, we have a fantastic opportunity to build relationships with them and serve them in practical ways. Some of these opportunities include connecting with a Syrian family on a weekly/biweekly basis to practice English informally. We also have the opportunity to mentor and coach Syrian youth through our weekly soccer program.
