Hector and Ruth's passion is to provide for the educational and spiritual needs of the children and families involved with ChildCARE Plus Guatemala.

More than half of Guatemala's population lives below the poverty line, and the cost of uniforms, supplies, and tuition keeps many children from continuing past grade six. Since becoming directors of ChildCARE Plus Guatemala in 2010 — starting with 182 children — the Aragons now serve over 500 children across 17 locations, working with multiple schools, 15 local churches, and many families to provide education and introduce children to Jesus. They also host short-term mission teams and teach and preach in churches on weekends.

Ruth was born in Ecuador and Hector in Guatemala. They met in Toronto, married, and graduated from Bible college, then pastored and planted Spanish-speaking churches in the Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo area for fourteen years before moving to Guatemala in 1997. They have three daughters.
