Luka and Cassandra's dream is to see Jesus use their church plant to bring freedom, hope, and life transformation to their community in Ptuj, Slovenia.

With fewer than 0.1% of Slovenians professing evangelical faith, Slovenia is one of the least-reached countries in Europe. The Farteks lead a Pentecostal church plant in Ptuj that recently doubled in size, helping their people reach their own community for Jesus. Luka and the congregation run outreaches including a mothers' group and weekly English clubs for teens, and Luka organizes the national Pentecostal young-adult camps three times a year. Cassandra, a full-time high school English teacher, leads the church's worship and children's ministries.

Luka left Slovenia in 2010 to study pastoral theology at Vanguard College in Edmonton, where he met and married Cassandra. After four years in youth and young-adult ministry in Edmonton, they returned to Slovenia in 2015, serving in Murska Sobota before moving to Ptuj in 2017 to help lead the newest church plant in the Slovenian Pentecostal movement. Their son Liam was born in 2021.
