When a natural disaster strikes or people are caught in conflict, innocent children and their families have urgent needs. People already experiencing poverty are especially vulnerable. Working with our network of global workers and other partners, we are able to get food, water and other supplies to people in need quickly.

For the majority of our relief efforts we work in partnership with ERDO, our denominational Emergency Relief and Development Agency.

Relief Efforts

War in the Middle East

With the start of the March bombing of Iran by the US and Israel, and Iran's retaliation, the situation in Bethlehem, Gaza and the West Bank has deteriorated even further. We are providing needed aid through our partners ERDO and the Bethlehem Bible College Shepherd Society.

The aid includes monthly food packages for families, emergency schooling for children taking shelter in church, and an after-school program that supports children through peace and reconciliation activities along with psychosocial support for trauma recovery.

We are also providing income support and long‑term empowerment for vulnerable families in Gaza and the West Bank through job opportunities and practical business training in both Gaza and the West Bank.

War in Ukraine

Ukraine has been under attack since February 24, 2022.  This ongoing conflict continues to leave people in desperate need, including access to food, water, medicine and shelter. Though many Ukrainians have started returning home, the trauma and lack of services continues to create challenges.

ERDO is providing practical support through our partners. We are working with local churches in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, ensuring people’s physical and spiritual needs are being met for those living in a warzone or displaced across Ukraine and Europe.

Flooding in Hat Yai, Thailand

Hat Yai, in Southern Thailand, experienced major flooding in November 2025 with 1,390 mm of rain over an eight-day period. 80% of the city was submerged under one to five meters of water.

Jarren and Cindie, our partner global workers in the city, helped by supporting students and families and providing food to the evacuees. As the waters receded, they assisted with cleanup and relief efforts.
